Sherwin Bonifacio

My love for Photography started when I was 11 years old. I was introduced to the art by my tatay, who himself loves taking photographs. He usually brought me along with his shoots and allowed me to use one of his analog camera to take pictures with him. This is where it all started. The candid shots that me and my tatay love to shoot. The candid shots that greatly influence me as photographer and from there I decided to venture in Wedding Photography in year 2009. I was in awe when slowly my hobby turned out to be a profitable business.

What is your style of photography?
My specialty is in Wedding Photography. Through years of experience I was able to learn deeper the art of creating lasting memories for couples by showcasing my creativity in personalizing every shots that is relevant to their own story. Story that people can go back to reminisce the feelings they had on the exact moment the photo was taken. For me, the mood of a photographer is really important in taking photos. If the mood is right or great, we will be able to create exceptional photographs beyond our own imagination. Our creative minds can flow freely if the emotion is right

What are the challenges of wedding photography?
My preference in the outcome of the photographs depends on the subject and location of our shoot. If the subject and its background or foreground can convey the story of the photograph in black and white then I will opt for the black and white outcome. If it will give out a vibrant feel in colours, then I will do it in colours.

Creating wonderful and timeless photographs is the best thing about being a wedding photographer. Then added points is that I get to travel to different places, experience new things, meet new people and at the same time earning for my family. I also get invited to do seminars for wedding photographers in and outside the country. With this I get to share my knowledge to other wedding photographers who are passionate with their craft.

What advice can you give to budding wedding photographers?
Being a wedding photographer needs to be resilient from weariness. Physically fit and need to have a clear mind. It is also equal as Important to have a complete set of equipments from cameras, lenses, lights and filters. I want to make sure that everything goes well in every sets as i am very particular not only with the couples emotions but also on small details in highlights and shadows during golden hours, because taking photograph of a once in a lifetime event is not as easy as one plus one. If we missed a moment, we will not be able to bring that back, it’s already lost, the client already lost a memory that might have been preserved for them through photographs.

So if you are the same kind of wedding photographer like me, having a set of NiSi filter on your side in every shoot you make will take you to the next level in wedding photography.
