What made you choose landscapes and cityscape?
I may be a Product Photographer and graphic designer by day but I am also a constant traveler in between. Whenever I get the chance, I do travel. Even a quick out of town will do. It makes me feel more alive and loosen up to the usual routine. The vision on scapes (landscapes and cityscapes) is somewhat incomparable, there is something about it that makes me feel thrilled, excited and satisfied. Travelling also makes me realize that there are something more beyond what we usually see, out there that needs to be discovered as well.

How important are filters in your photography? What are your preferred setup?
The importance of filters to me is that I can easily balance the exposure especially in difficult light conditions. And when I need to capture a long exposure scene to make it more dramatic and add more impact to my images. This also helps me reduce unwanted glare and reflections, enhance colors, and reduce light coming into the lens specially when i am shooting cars with high reflective glass.

I always keep 2 filter setup in my bag which is the Nisi HS V3 holder for my Nikon 24-70 paired with Nisi Landscape CPL, ND 6stop, and Nano Soft-Edge Graduated IRND 0.9 Filter (3-Stop) and my 2nd setup is the NiSi S5 filter holder paired with NiSi Circular Polarizer Filter, and NiSi Nano IR Medium Graduated Neutral Density Filter – ND8 (0.9) – 3 Stop

What are 3 important tips you can share to those who would like to try landscape and cityscape photography?
Tip 1. STUDY. In everything that we want to do we should plan and study. A good research and studying will help you understand landscape and cityscape photography. A good grip on what is needed, some references and how to execute.

Tip 2. TIME. Spending time for what you want to do does not apply to photography per se. It applies to all the things that we wanted to do. From preparation to execution, an ample time is required for someone who wants to make his trip to a certain location be more worthwhile. You should have enough time to give if incase you want to do landscapes and cityscape as timing is one of the essentials to get the shot that you want.

Tip 3. PATIENCE. Relevant to time is patience. You have to have long tolerance of everything. Say for example for travelling maybe by walking, hiking etc. just to get to the spot that you want. You might also bring a bit of heavy gear with you to have the set up required. Also, there are instances that you need to wait. Taking good photos are not a mere luck of one shot and you are done. You have to spend time to prepare and initiate.
